We are seeking dedicated, motivated and reliable Chlamydia Screening Assistants (CSAs) to join our Youth Engagement Team in Suffolk.

The role involves offering young people aged 15-24 the opportunity to take self-administered chlamydia tests as part of the National Chlamydia Screening Programme  (http://www.chlamydiascreening.nhs.uk/ps/). Successful candidates will work in a variety of settings including in youth clubs, colleges, bars, pubs, festivals and street outreach.  You will also be required to register young people to the C-Card condom distribution scheme.

This role is ongoing and sessional. Shifts are of varying duration and take place during working hours, evenings and weekends. This is a flexible role and is ideal for individuals that are studying or working part-time.  We particularly welcome applications from people who have an active interest in health and social care.

We require reliable and committed CSAs who live near the following areas within Suffolk:

  • West (Haverhill, Newmarket, Mildenhall, Sudbury, Bury St Edmunds and surrounding areas).
  • Waveney and Coastal (Bungay, Beccles, Halesworth, Leiston, Lowestoft and surrounding areas).
  • Central (Ipswich, Felixstowe, Hadleigh, Woodbridge, Wickham Market, Rendlesham and surrounding areas).

In your personal statement is it essential that you specify which area you live closest to.  Your application may not be considered if you do not provide this information.

If successful, you will have the opportunity to work across all areas.  Full training and ongoing support are provided to successful applicants. All successful applicants are subject to Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service checks (DBS checks), which will be paid for by Terrence Higgins Trust.

Please note that that we recruit for this role on an ad-hoc basis as required so you may not hear back from us straight away.
